Daughters of Hephzibah

MISSION STATEMENT:

“Daughters of Hephzibah” is a holistic ministry designed to cater to the spirit, soul, and body of its members. As a holistic ministry, its primary purpose is to bring the women of Bethel to maturity. Spirit: This ministry will cater to the “spirit” aspect of its members by providing opportunities for spiritual enlightenment and enrichment through various teaching, sharing, and deliverance sessions.

Soul: This ministry will cater to the “soul” aspect of its members by providing opportunities for mental and emotional soothing.

Body: This ministry will cater to the “body” aspect of its members by providing opportunities for relaxation, fun, and enjoyment.

The goal of the ministry is to provide opportunities for the women of Bethel to fellowship once a month using: W. E. S. H. A. R. E. as our operating philosophy: Women encouraging, supporting, hearing, affirming, and respecting each other.

The significance of the name “HEPH-ZI-BAH” (pronunciation: Hef-ze-bah) means “my delight is in her.” The name “Hephzibah” is mentioned in Isaiah 62, the theme scripture of Bethel Tabernacle Pentecostal Church. God said, “Thou shalt no more be termed Forsaken; neither shall thy land any more be termed Desolate: but thou shalt be called Hephzibah, and thy land Beulah: for the Lord delighteth in thee, and thy land shall be married” (Isaiah 62:4). The name “Hephzibah” signifies that God has renewed His covenant. The name also signifies a “newness” that God is doing. God promised in Isaiah 43:19 that He would do a new thing. “Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it?” In Isaiah 62, God established that His people would be called by a new name: “And thou shalt be called by a new name, which the mouth of the Lord shall name” (Isaiah 62:2b). When God names a person or group of people, that name embodies everything that God expects and anticipates he/she or they will become. Being called by that special name brings about a release of everything that name signifies or speaks of in one’s life. God has given the women of Bethel a new name– “Daughters of Hephzibah” –because He takes special delight in us. Therefore, we will continue to strive (collectively and individually) to stay in that special place where God takes delight.

Our invitation to you: We extend to all women, young and old, married and unmarried, an open invitation to join us each month as we minister to the “whole person”. We will draw on each other's strengths, learn from each other's weaknesses, as we all tell the truth. And at the end of the day, in the spirit of unity, the power of love and full participation we will leave having fostered healthy relationships, both spiritually and naturally. Servants to God and man, yours in Christ, The Daughters of Hephzibah Staff.
